The dress is as pictured, lined, and seemingly well-made. This review I have is not so much with the dress itself but with the "sizing & fit" in the dropdown menu. Although giving lengths of the dress in accordance with sizes is part of the fit, the lack of chest and waist measurements gives a false hope and a chance that I took...and I lost. Ordering an XL, which in general is a size that works for me if not usually too large, was part of that hope and chance that I now know I should've been wiser in the taking. Yes, returns are easy with re-do. Yes, I knew that exchanges (which I wasn't ready for -- ...*sigh*... choosing more clothes) or store credit (again...*sigh*...) are the only options when dealing with returns with NeeSee Dresses. I was really hoping my XL choice wouldn't translate into NeeSee Dresses utilizing the hard-earned monies I spent as a customer for their investments as a business. I understand the business strategy of keeping money, once in hand, to invest for buying future merchandise, investing, and so on...therefore holding the customer hostage to the company if they desire to continue to do business with them and get some return for the monies spent. As a customer, I loathe this strategy. Before ordering "The Merrily" take a good, hard look at the modeling of it. The sizing & fit information provided by this company does no favors in how the dress will fit. These beautiful women are in the modeling business for a reason, one of which is a sell for fitted clothing for NeeSee Dresses. Sleep on your decision before ordering for both determinations of how the dress will fit - and of where your money will lie if you return it.
The dress is as pictured, lined, and seemed to be well made. This review isn't so much about the dress itself, but the difficulty of discerning how it will fit, based on the "sizing & fit" dropdown on the menu for this dress. Giving lengths for sizes is only a portion of what is needed to know for sizing, and in this case, does not assist in determining size. With no chest or waist sizing available I took a chance on a hopeful order of an XL - a size that usually fits me or is too large, in the general world of clothing...and I lost. Yes, the return is easy with the option of re-do. Yes, the company gives exchanges or credits, but that's a part of the losing chance that I won. Although I knew before ordering that exchanges (I really didn't think I'd have to make those choices yet) or store credit (...*sigh*...) were the only options if I had to return the dress, I should've been smart to the lack of info for sizing -- and taken a good, tough look at the fit on the models. The inability to receive refunds from NeeSee Dresses is indicative of the company's need to keep the customer's hard-earned spending money for their business dealings. Although I understand that in a business sense -- who doesn't want other's monies to invest into their own profits? -- I cannot appreciate it as a customer. Before ordering "The Merrily "dress, take into consideration the models for this dress: they are small in body structure, probably taller than the average woman as that is the norm in the world of modeling, and not concerned with a chest or waist size in their occupation - and thus we don't see the numbers for such, either. Fitted fashion from NeeSee Dresses is meant for the smaller structured woman, and if you, as I, ordered with hopes instead of facts, your money will be held as payment for an uninformed decision.
